The SKF Engineering Research Centre is the Group's central product R&D facility. Research Engineer in advanced simulation technology
In this position you will be part of a research and development team working with development of a state-of-the-art in-house simulation tool. The software is based on multi-body dynamics technology, including aspects of contact mechanics, reduction techniques, tribology, fatigue, computational fluid dynamics, particle methods, etc. As a team member you will work in an international environment with close cooperation with research, product divisions and technical development centres around the world. You will have the opportunity to build and grow an SKF internal network, as well as an external network with suppliers, universities and third parties.
Key responsibilities
- Understand the customers? need for analysis,
- develop these into theories and algorithms, and
- implement them in engineering software tools with C++
Your Profile
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Theoretical Physics. PhD or MSc with experience
- Analytically minded and able to apply theories on real mechanical problems
- Proficient in applied mathematics
- Good understanding of physical modelling, e.g., multi-body dynamics, tribology contact mechanics
- Programming interest and skills in object oriented programming (C++)
- Strong focus on reaching targets and delivering results
- Project leader with networking skills
- Customer and business focus
- Self motivated, communicative team worker
