The School of Information Technology
Halmstad University consists of four interdisciplinary Schools and the current position is located at the School of Information Technology (ITE). ITE is a multicultural school with around 130 employees from 20 different countries. It is a strong research and education environment, with focus on smart technology and its applications. Students and researchers are working with everything from AI and information driven care to autonomous vehicles, social robotics and digital design. ITE offers education on all levels, from undergraduate to PhD education, plus education for professional. The research is conducted within the research environment Embedded and Intelligent Systems (EIS). An innovation centre for information driven care called Leap for Life is connected to ITE, as well as a collaboration arena for electronic development, Electronics Centre in Halmstad (ECH).

Description
This announcement is for a Research Engineer position. The position is intended to contribute mainly to teaching activities of ITE, together with specific commissioned education and research assignments. The position starts from August 1st, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Duties
Work assignments are directly connected to the courses given within the educational track Network Design and Computer Management and the educational programme IT Forensics and Information Security. As a Research Engineer, you will perform teaching duties mainly within the practical classes, both for hardware and software, and support students with project and thesis work. Other tasks will be to work with the maintenance and development of the department's hardware environments, which are used in the practical classes.
Qualifications
The position requires a Masters degree in digital forensics or equivalent. Strong merits are Cisco and Palo Alto instructor certification; fluent Swedish (ability to teach and communicate); previous experience with supervision and development of practical classes within the field; a keen interest in the area and proven ability to work with people from different disciplines, both within academia and industry. You need to work in a structured way, both independently and together with the rest of the team. You must be willing to take responsibility for development processes since the field of digital forensics is under constant development. Fluent English is required for this position. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also a requirement.
Salary
Salary is to be determined by negotiation. The application should include a statement of the salary level required by the candidate.
