Within the Solar System Physics and Space Technology research program we explore the solar system. The group consists of scientists and engineers with different specialist skills who work together to develop and deliver space instruments for national and international scientific satellites. The projects are usually carried out together with ESA, NASA and other major space agencies.

Job description
Your main area of responsibility will be to develop, design, manufacture and test electronics for space instruments. Production of technical documentation is an important part of the work, as well as being able to verbally communicate the results of the work. We are primarily seeking an engineer with experience in analogue electronics, power systems and EMC.
The process from idea to a finished instrument is mainly carried out at IRF and you will immediately see the results of your work. Many of the work task include development of prototypes. Projects usually involve international collaborations, which can involve both domestic and international travels.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in engineering with a focus on electronics, or other equivalent competence that the employer assesses to be equivalent. Specialization in space technology is an advantage.
Experience in the development and testing of analogue electronics systems (e.g. amplifiers and power supplies) for space or aerospace applications, as well as experience in the field of EMC, is highly valued.
Experience in the construction of digital systems is also meritorious, as well knowledge in space technology. Due to the extensive international contacts, it is important that you can express yourself very well in spoken and written English.
The work entails high demands on independence, accuracy, initiative and the ability to solve problems in many technical areas. Ability to collaborate within the work group as well as with external parties is a requirement. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
