Recent growth in the research activities and the well-established educational programs of the School of Information Technology (ITE) is enabling a significant expansion.
In 2018 the total research expenditure was over 70 MSEK and the school had over 850 students. Over the next two years, the School will grow significantly.
Description
The appointed person is intended to contribute to the research, educational and co-production activities of the School of Information Technology (ITE) at Halmstad University. The appointment will be made as a Research Engineer. The appointment is a permanent full-time position.
The two important collaboration arenas, Electronics Center Halland (ECH) and Halmstad Intelligent Home (HINT), are strategic investments that requires sustained coordination and technical expertise. This position is needed to accelerate the development of both the arenas, especially in terms of industrial connections and utilisation in our research and education.
General Duties
The Research Engineer is expected to work together with University staff and its industrial partners and contribute both in the day-to-day activities and to the development of both ECH and HINT, including their measurement facilities. The work will include performing advanced measurements, maximising academic and educational use of both facilities and to develop existing as well as promote new academic and industrial collaborations. The work also includes system development, maintenance and operation of the equipment for both facilities. The Research Engineer will also leverage the facilities and the associated network of industrial partners to enhance the connection between student thesis and research projects and the current needs of regional and national industrial partners.
There is scope within the role for the successful applicant to formulate and pursue collaborative research projects with staff and industrial partners at HH.
General Qualifications
The position requires a Master’s degree or relevant industrial experience closely related to the field of high-frequency electronics. Expertise and prior experience with circuit design within high-frequency electronics is highly desirable, as is expertise with measurement and instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial connections and experience from cooperation with industry and businesses at different stages of development. A good knowledge in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing (test processes and harmonized EMC standards for different product segments) is considered highly desirable. Experience from prior research activities is also considered a merit.
Salary
