Information about the divison
Onsala Space Observatory (OSO, see http://www.chalmers.se/oso) is the Swedish National Facility for Radio Astronomy. OSO is located 45 km south of Gothenburg on the Onsala peninsula and is hosted by Chalmers University of Technology. The observatory operates three radio telescopes at Onsala and is a partner in a sub-millimetre telescope in Chile. OSO additionally plays an important role within several major international radio astronomy projects i.e. within the Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimetre Array (ALMA), the Low frequency Array (LOFAR), Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) and the Square Kilometre Array (SKA).
Job description

The successful applicant will form part of team doing EM modeling using simulation software, high-level system modeling, design and testing of locally developed prototypes. In addition work is being done on design improvement for cost reduction and improved product reliability. Candidates with experience in one or more of the above areas are sought. The position is a two year contract, with a possibility for permanent extension. Up to 20% of the time will be dedicated to involvement in other projects related to development of new equipment for the OSO telescopes.
