Position description
The School of Innovation, Design and Engineering is seeking a Research Engineer to work within a research project in neurotechnology.
Work will focus on developing and optimizing a framework for a closed-loop feedback system for real-time acquisition and processing of physiological signals in LabVIEW. Included in this work will be programming of the feedback system (both on a PC-based platform as well as on high-level FPGA), implementing signal processing and AI-algorithms into the system as well as to investigate time-critical aspects of the system. Work may also include helping out during experimental setup prior to experiments.
The work will be conducted in collaboration with partner companies.
Qualification requirements
This work is conducted within the research specialization of Embedded Systems, a collaborative and energetic research profile that ranks internationally among the best in the world.
Specifically, the work will be conducted within an emerging research group in Neurotechnology, with focus on neurophysiological signal acquisition (using ElectroEncephaloGram, EEG), gaze patterns and pupillometry (using eye-tracking equipment).
The applicant is required to have an educational background in engineering with extensive knowledge in programming. The candidate should be able to work independently, as well as in a team; and be enthusiastic about pushing the state-of-the-art. Collaboration with academic and industry partners through the research project is expected. Good oral and written communication skills in English are required.
