Driven by the vision of sustainable aerospace innovation, GKN Aerospace develop large scale additive manufacturing, saving waste material and creating new design concepts for lower weight and integrated functionality. The technology target engine structures in advanced material, in sizes up to 3 meter in diameter.
We are looking for an innovative, committed person to join us at the Global Technology Center (GTC), and work as Manufacturing Engineer with deep interest in working with new concepts and technologies.
The Global Technology Center (GTC) has around 100 employees and is a part of GKN Aerospace Engine Systems. We develop technologies and run development programs for product demonstrations of new design concepts, often in national and EU frameworks programs together with OEM customers. Our mission is to support business growth by implementing competitive technologies.
The GTC competence spans over turbomachine design, product development, advanced material, manufacturing technologies, digitalisation and process development.
Opportunities
You will be involved in the development from the production concept to the production preparation of all the parts. You have a desire to participate in technology development and industrialize new methods, processes to meet strategies in the area and on the product.
You will work daily to ensure quality, delivery and more long-term to carry out planned improvement assignments. You will coordinate activities related to tool manufacturing, tool design, production preparation and CAM / NC.

Key Responsibilities
The primary role is to support the development of the next generation additive processes.


Some of the activities will be:
Close dialogue with operators and other technicians in the daily work.
Participate in dialogue with the customer and supplier regarding production technical issues.
Drive technology development projects within GTC
Follow and contribute to our Demonstrator Development Process.
Communicate and present plans and results internally as well as externally with our partners.



Working with technology development will require dedication, a self-driven character, and that one take ownership to independently progress your tasks.
The work is performed jointly with your team colleagues, through internal demonstrator and technology development projects and in research projects often done in bilateral or multilateral collaboration with our GKN colleagues, industry and academic partners and customers.
We are located at the GKN site in Trollhättan and we have our manufacturing and inspection laboratory at Innovatum in Trollhättan city, you will have the opportunity to work at both sites.
You are an MSc within Production Engineering or equivalent preferably with some industrial experience.
You have Experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, SPC, problem solving.
Knowledge of AM and other manufacturing methods and platforms for manufacturing preparation is an advantage.
You have an interest in digitalization and automation of work processes.
You have an ambition to drive technology projects.
You have good social skills, the ability to create effective networks and can take on a technical responsibility role
You are proficient in Swedish and English
