Research Engineer-Physics

Physics including fluid dynamics is one of the main field of knowledge for our business used in most products and applications. The area covers knowledge and work in related areas like aerosols, physical mass transfer, physical and theoretical modeling (CFD), data analysis, sizing of products outside the envelope, project leader ship.

Provide the ALSTOM ECS group with expert competence within assigned technology. Assures consistency/commonality (to the greatest extent possible) in application of assigned technology to different technical and market needs. Manage and perform R&D-activities and other actions to meet the given objectives and ALSTOM's general competitiveness in assigned technology.

For this particular position:
1. MSc or PhD in Physics of Mechanical Engineering
2. Preferably project management experience
3. Fluent in English
4. Outgoing personality
5. Willing to travel
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage R&D projects according to the Product Development Quality Process.
- By good experience gained in the daily work and good fundamental knowledge contribute to the assigned R&D projects and service and support.
- Team member in different R&D projects related to the skill-set of the individual
- Utilize the unique experience/skill-set acquired through R&D projects in support and service to the business regions
- Trouble shooting in commercial projects
- Identify possible patentable ideas in the R&D projects


Education/Experience/Minimum Training Requirements:
Education: A Master of Science in Engineering is required. Advanced degree a plus.

Skill in: Skilled in design definition/documentation, product development and implementation.

Ability to: Ability to interact with other disciplines and technologies such as:
Strategic Technology Development Managers
Technology managers
Mechanical design
Chemical process engineering
Pilot testing
