Arbetsbeskrivning
Do you want to be involved in the development of the processes of the future? Do you also have a university degree in science or technology? Great, now you have the opportunity to be part of an organization that aims to create an environmentally friendly, CO2-free production of high value-added products!
The section within R&D in processing technology in Malmberget currently consists of 17 people and we want more colleagues! The section’s employees are engaged in various types of internal research assignments in many parts of LKAB – everything from process mineralogy, processing technology to finished product and landfill. We also work in external collaborations such as with universities, suppliers and in collaborative projects such as HYBRIT.
About the positions
We are looking for research engineers in the areas of mineral technology and product development. Regardless of the area, it is a challenging job where you will participate and conduct research assignments together with experienced colleagues and laboratory staff. The work involves many internal and external contacts. The development area extends from the ore extracted from the mines to the finished product. We investigate new ores, future tailing techniques, develop future processing processes and products.
You will be responsible for planning, performing, evaluating and documenting laboratory tests. The work is assignment-based and largely experimental in laboratory scale and pilot trials in our process plants. It is a mixture of practical and theoretical work where you will be involved in everything.
You will be given great responsibility for planning and conducting tests independently or together with interdisciplinary teams. You will also be internally trained as we at LKAB know that we have much of the core competence required in the role of Research Engineer.
The positions are located in Malmberget.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone with at least a 3-year engineering degree from a college or university. If you have knowledge in mineral technology, chemistry, chemical engineering and/or metallurgy, it is a merit.
We are curious about both those with long experience in the industry and new graduates. Above all, we are looking for you with enthusiasm for improving processes in LKAB and who likes to learn new things.
It is important that you can work independently and are committed. You need good writing and communication skills, as the results are mainly delivered in the form of written reports and presentations.
The role includes creating, or being part of, networks internally within LKAB and externally with mainly universities, research institutes and suppliers. Good knowledge of English is therefore a requirement.
Commitment, innovation and responsibility are important keywords for you in your daily work. We will value personal qualities highly in this recruitment and for the right person there will be great development opportunities. For us at LKAB, it is important to have an inclusive climate where everyone feels welcome and we look forward to the new thoughts, ideas and approaches that you bring with you.
For all our positions, a driving license is required.
