Background
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. We are in a very exciting phase, where we have many major projects and important activities within the next few years. In order to secure Scania’s long-term competitiveness it is crucial to identify, validate and implement the right production technologies for Scania’s production. Therefore, we are looking for a Production Technology Manager with focus on technology scouting, technology roadmapping and technology evaluation. A strong focus will be on production technologies for electrified trucks in order to find the right strategy for adapting Scania’s production to the ongoing transformation of the transport sector.

Your role
You will be working in the department Global Industrial Development. Global Industrial Development is responsible for strengthening and developing Scania's joint expertise in production technology, quality and industrial IT.

Your work will be based on Scania’s long-term technology roadmap (TRM). You will play an important role in contributing to the development of the TRM in cooperation with your colleagues. In particular, you will be responsible for the identification of new technologies in external networks and through collaboration with research organizations and business associations. Based on the requirements from Scania’s global production units, you will initiate production research and development activities to identify, validate and implement new production technologies at Scania.

Your key responsibilities will be:


• Technology scouting and evaluation
• Initiation and follow-up of validation projects
• Develop technology strategies for producing future products
• Mapping of requirements on future technologies in cooperation with Scania’s product development and Scania’s global production units
• Contribute to Scania’s long-term technology roadmap development
• Contribute to strategic planning in order to ensure, that Scania’s technology strategy is aligned with Scania’s long-term vision
• Collaboration with partner brands within the TRATON group and other external parties as universities.

Qualifications


• Sc. in engineering or similar
• Experience from similar jobs or completed PhD studies are a merit
• Excellent English written and verbal skills
• You have or want to develop excellent Swedish written and verbal skills
• Knowledge about Scania and Scania’s production system (SPS, LEAN at Scania) is a merit
• You have or want to establish a strong national and international professional network

As a person you are structured, analytic and are used to strategizing. Furthermore, you are a team player with excellent communication skills.
