We are currently looking for a technically skilled and highly motivated in vitro scientist to join the Bioscience COPD IPF Department within the Early Respiratory and Immunology R&D unit located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The successful candidate will be joining one of 4 teams within the department that are currently supporting both early and late stage respiratory projects.

What you'll do
This is a lab-based role where you will be involved in multiple ongoing projects with responsibility to analyse samples from experiments/studies from various cells and tissues. This role will give the opportunity to support, design, develop and conduct experiments supporting the identification of new drug targets and the progression of drug discovery projects.
We will rely on you to:
* Execute in vitro/ex vivo experiments according to study plans agreed with the team leader or other supervisor
* Contribute to the interpretation of experimental data and play an important role in the planning of further experiments
* Identify and tackle problems associated with the experiments and discuss with other team members
* Be an effective team member in supporting projects to meet their objectives
* Possess a range of practical skills and demonstrate flexibility within and across teams
* Effectively communicate results to other members of the project, team or to departments as required
Essential for the role
* A relevant science degree (eg BSc or MSc)
* Practical experience in biochemical, cell or molecular biology analysis methods (eg immunoassays, quantitative RT-PCR, cell culture)
* Excellent scientific laboratory skills and ability to work independently
* Good networking and interpersonal skills and delivery focus
In addition, you possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English as well as great problem-solving skills related to in vitro research and data analysis. You have a positive and goal oriented attitude. You are an excellent team player but are also able to take own initiatives. You are organized and incorporate the views of others in your communication and collaboration.
Desirable for the role
* Laboratory capabilities developed through experience in research (eg drug discovery)
* An understanding of Respiratory diseases
* Practical experience in the use of in vitro or ex vivo systems used in respiratory research
* Experience in pharmaceutical R&D
