Arbetsbeskrivning
Mabtech keeps growing and we’re now on the lookout for a research scientist to join our assay development team! This team shares an enthusiasm for biomedical research and science, particularly in the field of immunology.
About the position
Your main responsibilities will be developing and characterizing immunoassays based on monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).
As a research scientist, you’ll work downstream from the lead generation team to develop mAb-based sandwich assays such as ELISA, ELISpot, and FluoroSpot. You’ll be involved in projects from the characterization of mAbs all the way up to documentation of the assay in a report. At Mabtech, ownership is everything – which means constantly coming up with new ideas, driving the best ones forward, and holding yourself just as accountable for the unexpected as you do for the slam dunks. Being able to work cross-team is also crucial for success here, since you’ll balance independent work with problem solving amongst teams.
About you
We think you’re at the start of your career, excited to contribute to innovative products that enable research all over the world. You thrive in the lab and might even have worked with mAb-based immunoassays before (whether that’s ELISA, ELISpot, FluoroSpot, flow cytometry, or bead-based multiplex assays). You’ve probably understood that accuracy and structure are vital for this role.
Mabtech is a small company known for spotting potential and rapidly adapting to market need. So, it’s incredibly important for you to have a collaborative and flexible mindset at work. Tasks can change (sometimes even at the last minute), but you’ll never be alone. We’re all in this together, and we won’t call it done until it’s right. At Mabtech, quality isn’t just a word. It’s a mindset, a mantra, and a lens we hold to all our initiatives – whatever the size.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in biotechnology or equivalent
• Experience with mAb-based immunoassays such as ELISA, ELISpot, and FluoroSpot
• Experience with flow cytometry and bead-based multiplex assays is a big plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (hopefully in Swedish, too)
• Experience with data documentation using an electronic lab notebook
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously
Recruitment process
For this recruitment process, Mabtech is collaborating with Mpya Sci & Tech. Send in your application as soon as possible, but no later than October 15th. Any questions? Reach out to Sandra Bydell Sveder here: sandra.sveder@mpyascitech.com
About Mabtech
Mabtech is a Swedish biotech company founded in 1986 by three scientists from Stockholm University. Today, we have more than 70 coworkers, but our mission is still the same: to assist other researchers with high quality, dependable research tools and in-depth technical support. Scientists around the world use our products to capture, detect, and discover analytes with precision and accuracy, and they’ve been included in more than 3,500 peer reviewed scientific publications. We do it all from our headquarters in Nacka, with a fully in-house team of whizzes working in Research & Development, Production, Quality Control, Support, Sales, and Marketing (just to name a few).
