The School of Science and Technology has an open position as a research scientist in Chemistry.
Responsibilities
We seek an experienced researcher who should carry out research in the field of bioinformatics in metabolomics. The area of application is integration of multi-omics data in order to identify the pathway and biomarkers associated with specific disease conditions, particularly in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. A successful candidate should be able to plan and lead the bioinformatics work and contribute to further development of the project portfolio in this area.
Requirements
To be eligible for a position the successful candidate should have obtained a Ph.D degree in physics, chemistry or mathematics or a related field.
Assessment criteria
The successful candidate must be able to plan and execute bioinformatical analyses, data integration and modelling. In addition to fulfilling the requirements for eligibility in terms of a Ph. D degree the successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
• A Ph.D. degree and a strong track record in bioinformatics, systems biology or a related field
• Relevant experience in systems biology and data management
• Knowledge on different omics techniques, particularly on lipidomics and metabolomics
• The applicant should have experience in project management/leadership
• Experience with fatty liver disease is beneficial
• Fluency in English is mandatory
On personal level, the candidate should be flexible, collaborative and capable of working independently.

Type of employment
The position is full-time and limited to two years. Örebro University has an individual salary.
