Stockholm university seeks Research Scientist in Software development to Baltic Nest Institute - Stockholm Resilience Center Reference number: SU 613-0452-10. The Stockholm Resilience Centre is an international centre that advances transdisciplinary research for governance of social-ecological systems with a special emphasis on resilience - the ability to deal with change and continue to develop.The Stockholm Resilience Centre was established on 1 January 2007.It is a joint initiative between Stockholm University, the Stockholm Environment Institute and the Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics at The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.The centre is funded by the Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research, Mistra.The Centre for Transdisciplinary Environmental Research (CTM) at Stockholm University and The Baltic Nest Institute (former MARE) are also part of the Stockholm Resilience Centre.The FORMAS-provided project Resilience and Sustainability: Integrated Research on Social-Ecological Systems, is an acknowledgement of Stockholm Resilience Centre also being a Swedish Centre of Excellence.The Baltic Nest Institute (BNI) at the Stockholm Resilience Centre announces a two-year scientist position (with a possibility to be prolonged) within the frame of FORMAS project "Regime Shifts in the Baltic Sea Ecosystem" and within the newly founded SU Centre "Baltic Sea Adaptive Management" (BEAM).The position is aimed to develop model tools within the Nest system with special emphasis on software development of the Nest system. The main focus of the BNI is development and maintenance of Nest decision support system (http://www.balticnest.se/) and there are research teams on marine, drainage basin and food web modeling and a team working with database and software development.BNI was a key player in the formulation of the Baltic Sea Action Plan and its mandate is to support international negotiations on Baltic Sea restoration.BNI scientists are also involved in various EU research projects and do basic research.
