Alligator Bioscience is a young and creative protein drug development company and we are now looking for a new talented and motivated team member to replace one of our colleagues who soon will be on parental leave.


Description of the position
The candidate will be placed in the screening group, which is responsible for doing protein analysis and high throughput screening (HTS) of protein libraries.The candidate's main work tasks will be

- participate in drug candidate projects and plan the protein analysis work;
- develop, validate and apply protein analysis methods in drug candidate projects;
- data evaluation and application of statistical methods on data, as well as making conclusions from raw data and calculated results;
- documenting experimental plans, data, calculated results and conclusions in laboratory journal;
- planning work tasks and experimental plans for participants in drug candidate projects;
- search information in scientific databases and from Internet, manufacturers etc.

The position includes a significant amount of method development.The candidate will be responsible for planning his/her own working tasks.

Qualifications
The candidate is required to have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant subject within chemistry, biology or molecular biology, or Research engineer with a long-time experience from working with protein drug development.

Following experiences are required from all applying candidates:

- development, validation and application of 96 and 384 well plates-based ELISA methods;
- evaluation of immunoassay data;
- statistical evaluation of data (t test, analysis of variance etc.);
- develop and run assays in HTS format, or automated liquid handling via robots;
- ELISA detection techniques other than traditional colorimetric/luminometric methods, e.g.HTRF, Lance, Alphascreen;
- cell-based assays;
- data evaluation software (Excel, GraphPad and similar software).

Moreover the candidate should be able to write and talk English fluently.

Terms of employment
Temporary position for 12 months parental leave.
Working hours: 39.5 h per week, flexible working hours.
The position is available from 1st of August, 2008.
