Arbetsbeskrivning
Job description
Are you a scientist with AI/ML experience and interested in working with research and development within central nervous system disorders? Are you ready for a new opportunity at IRLAB? This could be your new career!
IRLAB is offering an exciting role as a Research Scientist in the AI/ML field to join our computational chemistry & biology team. IRLAB is focused on the discovery and development of new drugs for treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other life-altering diseases of the brain.
Responsibilities
Together with your colleagues in the computational chemistry & biology team you will work with the analysis toolkit in our proprietary Integrative Screening Process (ISP) platform by strengthening our competence and resources in non-linear modelling and deep learning.
Using ISP, IRLAB discovers and develops unique drug candidates for CNS disorders where large and growing medical needs exist.
The ISP platform is built on a systems pharmacology discovery approach with an extensive, world-unique, standardized database of multidimensional system response profiles of in-house compounds and a large set of marketed drugs from all major CNS classes and other references compounds with known effects in humans. The dedicated and stringent build-up of this database has been ongoing for over 25 years. Machine learning and multivariate statistics methodology constitute a cornerstone at IRLAB in the analysis of high-dimensional data. A set of tools based on these methods has been developed for the prediction of drug efficacy and for identification of drug candidates with potential to address unmet medical needs in CNS disorders.
IRLAB is a research-intensive company in an expansive phase with 30+ employees at present. You will be part of a small group responsible for mathematical modelling and computations throughout the drug discovery and development process. The group consists of experienced scientists in these fields, as well as computational chemistry, computational biology, data analysis, biostatistics and informatics. You will deepen our knowledge and extend our toolbox with methods from recent developments in non-linear modelling and deep learning. You will focus on further developing and sharpening the ISP platform.
Qualifications
You hold a master’s degree in a relevant field, such as computational science. Preferably, you have chemistry or biology experience as well. You may be at the beginning of your career or have worked for a few years. You have strong troubleshooting skills and are able to make significant contributions to the practical delivery of projects in this field. The position requires:
Experience within machine learning, statistical modeling, and AI
Experience with modern deep learning methods
Programming skills such as in Python, and experience with application development
Experience within chemistry, biology or another life science area is a bonus
Willing to be part of multidisciplinary projects
Ability to speak and write English
Working knowledge of Swedish is a merit.
You will have good social and communication skills and the ability to collaborate in teams. You are able to work independently and have a positive, goal-oriented and problem-solving attitude.
Application
Last day for application is: 2022-01-03 selection and interviews will be ongoing. Please register your application at randstad.se as soon as possible.

About the company
IRLAB is a Swedish research and development company that focuses on developing novel treatments in Parkinson’s disease. The company's most advanced candidates, mesdopetam (IRL790) and pirepemat (IRL752), have completed Phase IIa studies and are designed to treat some of the most difficult symptoms related to Parkinson's disease: involuntary movements (PD-LIDs), psychosis (PDP) and symptoms linked to cognitive decline such as impaired balance and increased risk of falls (PD-Falls). Through the proprietary research platform, ISP (the Integrative Screening Process), IRLAB discovers and develops unique drug candidates for central nervous system (CNS)-related disorders where large and growing medical needs exist. In addition to the clinical candidates, the ISP platform has also generated several CNS programs that are now in preclinical phase. The project portfolio comprises a combination of the fully-funded mesdopetam program, run in collaboration with global partner Ipsen, as well as innovative in-house programs from preclinical to Phase IIb. IRLAB is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm Main Market. More information on www.irlab.se.
