To our R&D team we are looking for a Research Specialist . You will join a group of highly skilled engineers and researcher. You should enjoy being creative and think outside the box to find new feature and technical solutions.

What you'll do:
As our new Research Specialist your main objective will be to Create Trust for the users of our advanced driver assistant systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles (AD) systems by investigating solutions for sensing systems and communication creating a reliable perception of real life traffic scenarios.

Your main task will be to identify sensor system and communication requirements based on new functionality in ADAS and AD. You will investigate future sensor system concepts using cameras, radars, lidars, radio and cellular communication, with respect to technology, hardware details, and signal processing including data management and integrity. You will also propose and execute proof of concept for new collaborative sensor system design ideas. You will also evaluate and identify gaps in the current sensor technologies with respect to automotive requirements.

Additionally, you will:

- Propose, organize and conduct short studies together with startups, universities, institutes, car manufacturers and technology providers
- Support and cooperate with the Veoneer Camera, Radar, Lidar and Radio Engineering teams
- Support internal product engineering teams with design ideas to improve product development
- Be the technical expertise in cooperation projects with academia, research institutes and external companies


What you'll bring:
We believe that you are a person who are seeking new and exciting challenges within the research of electromagnetic sensors and communication systems using Camera, Radar, Lidar and cellular 4g/5g. You already have a solid base knowledge within Electronics and Physics but are now looking for new opportunities to study the sensor systems for the next generation of connected ADAS and AD.

Since you will be a driver in technical projects with for example universities, startups and institutes it is also important that you know how to lead and guide people in the teams. You understand the different roles involved in the product development and what you all are trying to accomplish. Additionally, you see yourself as imaginative and driven person with a sense for structure and responsibility. You’re able to see possibilities for improvements in your field of studies and enjoy working with the next generation systems within sensors such as radar and lidar or whatever comes next in the active safety field.

You need to have a:

- Master’s Degree or higher in Electronics or Physic

- Work experience, within the automotive field or similar, at least 5 years
