Initially the role will be a 6-month consulting assignment but for the right person the intention is to make this a permanent position at Procella Therapeutics.

About the position:
Procella Therapeutics is a start-up biotech company on a mission to create stem cell-based therapy for heart disease and is seeking an outstanding Research Technician to join its growing multi-cultural team.

This full-time support role will focus on human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation into cardiomyocytes, as well as related molecular biology assays. Under the supervision of the Senior Scientists, the Research Technician will be responsible for the production and characterization of consistently high-quality differentiated cells using standard operating protocols and to contribute towards the goal of creating a cell therapy product.


Main responsibilities:
For this supportive role, the primary focus will be to reliably and consistently expand and differentiate human embryonic stem cells into cardiomyocytes. Key activities will include cell banking, stability studies and performing in-process controls according to standardized protocols.


Who are you?
Required professional qualifications:
• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomanufacturing or related field
• High level of experience with cell culture with excellent sterile technique
• Extensive and hands on experience with flow cytometry and qPCR
• Demonstrated excellence in planning, executing and analyzing experiments
• Ability to write technical reports and protocols, to quantify experimental results and present to the team


Required personal qualifications:
• Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and carefully keep records
• Flexible team player excited to collaborate with internal and external partners
• Able to troubleshoot, solve difficult problems, and contribute to process improvements
• Highly self-motivated with ability to perform well in a team setting
• Goal-oriented thinking and ability to drive project according to project timeline
• Ability to work occasional weekends
• Swedish work permit


Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture
• Previous experience and knowledge of cardiovascular biology
• Experience with suspension culture or large-scale (bioreactor) culture
• Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
• Experience with assay development
• Prior industrial experience in cell culture process development
• Proven record on publication and presentation in scientific conferences
