Ericsson Research develops new communication solutions and standards. The organization has responsibility to provide Ericsson with world-class system concepts, technology innovations, analyzes and methodology.
Building on our experience from real network operations, profound knowledge about existing standards, and forward-looking research, we invent and master state-of-the-art concepts that shape today’s and tomorrow’s mobile radio communication systems!
At Research Area Radio we are accountable for research on advanced radio access networks systems, physical layer as well as multi-antenna concepts and algorithms. Our research is targeting standardization, invention of proprietary solutions and algorithms and pushing the frontiers in future wireless communication theory.
Are you passionate about technology and love inventing new things? We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Researchers to join our world-leading radio research department, to develop cutting-edge technology for future radio networks.

The available Researcher positions will be based in one of our research sites in Sweden (Stockholm, Gothenburg, Lund, Linköping, Luleå).

You will have an opportunity to strengthen our 5G and 6G research on physical and system aspects for communication concepts targeting mobile broadband, cellular IoT and potentially new connectivity scenarios.

You will
• Investigate and evaluate concepts for future radio access technologies and standards such as 6G
• Be part of the continuous development and improvement of existing standards, such as 5G
• Master physical layer and radio resource management techniques
• Use and develop simulation tools for evaluating new cutting-edge ideas
• Ensure that proposed access solutions enable efficient overall performance
• Understand advanced hardware possibilities and limitations
• Work with algorithm design, model and simulator tool development, simulations, concept design and standardization
• Drive testbed implementation and field performance tasks
• Cooperate with internal and external partners

To be successful in the role you must have
• A University degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent
• Previous experience in at least one of the following areas: information theory, signal processing, automatic control, artificial intelligence, wireless mobile and/or digital communication
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to build networks
• Personal drive and focus on the tasks at hand

Preferred Qualifications:
• Skills in structured object-oriented programming, such as C++, and Matlab
• Good knowledge in simulation and evaluation tool methodology
• Interest or experience in leadership
