The mission and scope of Group Function Technology (GF Technology) is to enable the full value of connectivity for service providers through Technology Leadership. The unit shall sharpen Ericsson's competitiveness in the Technology Leadership arena through well defined Technology and Business Strategy, and ensure a strong industry position for Ericsson.
Our Exciting Opportunity
The Research Area Networks within Ericsson Research is responsible for end-to-end architectures and protocols for the radio access network, core network, transport, and cloud, and on how to optimize, handle, and orchestrate networks and network functions based on analytics, policies, and machine intelligence algorithms.
We also drive standardization in the areas, cooperate with leading academic institutions, develop prototypes and testbeds, and provide concepts and general expertise for Ericsson products and business units.
We are looking for a Researcher to build and transfer competence and ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by developing novel solutions, contribute to standardization, and provide support and expertise to product development.
You will
Perform, document and communicate Research studies, computer simulations and laboratory measurements on radio access higher layers (medium access control and radio resource management)
Represent Ericsson at external forums such as standardization discussions in 3GPP and O-RAN, international projects, university collaborations as well as customer meetings
Build new technical solutions and protect them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Work in our world-class cross-disciplinary teams on groundbreaking technology utilizing outstanding assets such as laboratories
Contribute to evolving the mobile technology used by billions of people worldwide with the opportunity to gain valuable experience to pursue a successful career

To be successful in the role you must have
Education: M.Sc. or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Initiative and innovation culture with a positive dedication to the Research
Solid knowledge in 3GPP-based mobile communication systems with a focus on network resource management
Strong analytical skills and interest in acquiring new knowledge and applying it at work
Good communication skills in written and spoken English
Ability to formulate problems and tackle them independently and in collaboration in a team with varied strengths and external partnerships
Creativity and ability to work independently
