Research and graduate education at the department of chemistry and molecular biology comprises a wide scientific field from the atomic and molecular levels all the way through cells to intact organisms. Much of the phenomena studied here impact on our natural environment and living systems. Information about the research group:
Membrane protein structural biology has been a strong research activity at the University of Gothenburg for more than a decade. The group of Richard Neutze and Kristina Hedfalk has been innovative in developing advanced x-ray methods for probing conformational changes in membrane proteins. Within the group there are also expertise in protein production and characterization. We work extensively through international collaborations that have led to several high impact publications.
Job assignments

With support from the Swedish Research Council, the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology seeks applicants for a researcher position focusing on the large scale production of membrane proteins. The project will mainly focus on method development for the large scale production and purification of aquaporins and their biophysical characterization.
Qualifications
To qualify as a researcher, the applicant must have completed a Swedish doctoral degree or must have a foreign degree corresponding to a Swedish doctoral degree.

To qualify as a postdoctoral fellow, the applicant must have completed a Swedish doctoral degree or must have a foreign degree corresponding to a Swedish doctoral degree. Experience in working with membrane protein production and biophysical characterization of membrane proteins is important.
