Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management
The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Administration is part of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Plant Production Science. The teaching and research within the department is conducted in four thematic subject areas: Design of urban landscapes, Landscape planning, Urban landscape governance and management and Urban vegetation. The research and teaching at the department is multidisciplinary and includes the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, design and engineering. The department consists of approximately 85 employees active in teaching and / or research and development..
The purpose of this employment is to undertake research on the project “Monitoring the provision and condition of high-value restorative outdoor environments with remote sensing and Volunteered Geographic Information” funded by FOMA.

Duties:
Holders of the employment must conduct research in line with the project research objectives in collaboration with the PI and other team members. In particular to establish quantifiable metrics for monitoring the restorative contribution of urban green spaces using image analysis and scalable citizen science.
Qualifications:
The tasks require good experience of working with GIS analyzes in a planning and / or landscape context, in particular remote sensing of urban forest. It also requires experience of stakeholder engagement for scientific purposes and of statistical methodologies for identifying relationships between qualitative and quantitative data, both of a spatial and a-spatial nature. Due to interaction with stakeholders proficiency in both Swedish and English is required, in both spoken and written form.
Demonstrated experience of publishing scientific papers in international, peer reviewed, journals for the field.
Eligibility:
PhD related to urban forestry and planning, including courses at university level with specialization in GIS and remote sensing.
