MAX IV is a national large-scale research laboratory providing scientists from Sweden and the rest of the world with instruments for research in areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually. 200 people are currently employed at the MAX IV Laboratory.



Tasks:

The tasks include:

- Participating in the commissioning and operation of the two storage rings at MAX IV Laboratory
- As a deputy “ring systems owner”, push the performance of the two rings to best possible level
- Single particle dynamics calculations and experiments, both linear and non-linear, for the existing rings
- Implementation and diagnose of linear lattice corrections related to insertion devices
- Implementation and diagnose of the non-linear part of the magnet lattice
- 20 % of the time may be used for research related to the present rings as well as to future upgrades

 Qulifications:

The successful candidate has the following qualifications:

- PhD in accelerator physics or similar
- Demonstrated experience in theoretical modelling and experimental studies of particle beam dynamics in electron storage rings
- The candidate must be able to work both independently, and to work in collaboration with engineering, operation and physics experts
- Very good skills in English, both oral and written
