at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. Closing date: 8 December 2023.
The Department is mainly located with the other Departments of Chemistry and Life Sciences in the Arrhenius Laboratories for Natural Sciences, which are situated in the northern part of the University Campus at Frescati. Some 300 people of which about 70 are PhD students work at the Department, engaged in internationally highly recognized research covering a broad range of subjects.
Project description
Expertise in studies of mitochondrial membrane proteins and cryo-electron microscopy.
Main responsibilities
The main task is to plan and run research projects and to help with the supervision of doctoral students and project students. Examples of techniques used are: cultivation of yeast cells, protein expression, purification of membrane proteins, studies of membrane proteins with biophysical methods, analysis of data and compilation of manuscripts. Participation in general group activities and responsibilities is also part of this position. Responsibility for laboratory instruments as well as supervision and demonstration of laboratory elements for advanced level students, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and guest researchers are also included in the duties.
Qualification requirements
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
Assessment criteria
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills as well as expertise in studies of mitochondrial membrane proteins and cryo-electron microscopy.
Terms of employment
The position involves full-time employment for 3 months with possibility of extension. Start date 2024-01-01 or as per agreement.
