We are looking for a researcher in Computer Science for a permanent position at the School of Science and Technology.

Subject area
The subject area for this position is Computer Science.

Duties and responsibilities
A researcher shall spend their working hours mainly on research. The appointment may also include teaching, when there is a need within the organisation, to facilitate the researcher to acquire qualifications for a teaching appointment at the University. The share of teaching may not exceed 20 per cent of a full-time post.

The topic of the position is on perception-augmented telemanipulation. The application area focuses on robotised additive manufacturing where industrial robots are used for cleaning tasks of additive manufacturing machines. Using motion trackers, operators should be able to remotely manipulate a robot to successfully achieve and monitor the cleaning process.

Qualifications
Those qualified for the appointment as a researcher are applicants who have obtained a doctoral degree or have a degree from abroad deemed to correspond to a doctoral degree.

Assessment criteria
General assessment criteria include good interpersonal skills and an ability to cooperate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise required to perform the duties well. Prior experience in at least two of the following is required: dense 3D mapping; motion planning / control of robot arms; teleoperation systems for manipulation; autonomous systems for pick and place tasks; machine learning; human-robot teaming. In addition, the candidate should have excellent programming skills, and experience with Robotic Operating System (ROS). Documented experience with collaborative projects is a plus. The duties require communicative skills, both in writing and in speech, in English.

This is a permanent full-time position. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, and positions announced are, where appropriate, subject to a trial period.
