Department of Soil and Environment
A researcher position focussing on organic matter dynamics in soils is available at the Department of Soil and Environment. The Department of Soil and Environment pursues research, education and environmental assessment work related to soil and its sustainable use. The majority of the department’s operations and employees are located at SLU Ultuna campus in Uppsala, and there is a research group with a field research station situated in Skara.

Duties:
The holder of the position is expected to


• join and further develop our research on organic matter dynamics in soils. More specifically, the holder should, in collaboration with other researchers, further develop a terrestrial bioenergetics framework.
• apply for external research funding from national and international sources.
• work as Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Department of Soil & Environment (20% assignment).

Qualifications:
The candidate who is offered the position


• shall have a PhD degree in a topic that is relevant for the position
• shall have documented postdoc or equivalent experience in the field; experience with gas measurements in the laboratory and/or field is particularly relevant.
• should have proven ability in conducting independent, scientific research as well as writing scientific publications.
• should have teaching experience and/or supervision of students/doctoral students and have undergone educational training equivalent to at least 3 weeks.
• should have good ability in English and Swedish both orally and written.

We will lay emphasis on personal characteristics, ability to work in a team, independence as well as initiative and organizational ability.

Form of employment:
Employment as a researcher. The position is limited to 2 year.
