Within the REEL project, you will be able to contribute to developing a better understanding of these issues.
Information about the project and the division
The research project is part of REEL, a project led by Closer that brings together transport buyers, freight distributors, hauliers, terminal operators, charging point operators, electricity distribution companies, truck OEMS, and suppliers of charging equipment. In addition regions, cities and universities are participating in the project. Within REEL, 45 battery electric trucks will be used for a number of regional freight transport routes. the vehicles will be rolling all over Sweden with a concentration in Mälardalen, Skåne and Västra Götaland.
You will be part of the division of Physical Resource Theory and work within the transport group. Physical Resource Theory is part of the department of Space, Earth and Environment. The division carries out research in the field of technical and socio-economic systems addressing the challenges involved in the transition into a sustainable and low carbon society for a growing population, where a range of different quantitative and qualitative methods can be applied on our research topics.
Major responsibilities
As a researcher within the project you will plan and carry out studies to investigate the effects on work culture and the skill and competence gaps linked to the electrification of regional freight transport. Questions that will be addressed are: how is the work environment affected for the different actors in the system? What behavioral changes are required by the participating actors? Are there system parameters that affect men and women differently? What type of competence development is needed?
The tasks include literature review, designing and conducting interview studies of relevant actors. Teaching up to 10% can be included in the position.
