Information about the research and the division
The applicant will work in the area of network automation. Network automation can broadly be described as developing and applying software for intelligent and autonomous network control and management. Functions that enable provisioning, monitoring, and adaptation of network infrastructure and services are critical enablers of network automation. Machine learning and big data techniques are essential for determining how to configure best and manage a network to meet specific performance goals.

The division of Communications, Antennas, and Optical Networks conducts cutting-edge research covering several aspects of communication infrastructures. The Optical Networks (ON) unit research topics include but are not limited to network design and performance optimization, control and management, fiber access and mobile transport networks, fiber-wireless convergence, network sustainability, reliability, security, and survivability.

Main responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will be to attract funding, conduct cutting-edge research, and advise Ph.D. students. You are also expected to take project leadership roles.
Dissemination of scientific outcomes in top-tier journals, conferences, and symposia is expected. You may also be involved in teaching activities undertaken at the unit.

Contract terms
Full-time permanent employment.
