Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and creative researcher to engage in the development of current and future mobile networks' generations, used by billions of people. This opportunity is to join our Ericsson Research team working with the 3rd Generation Partnership project (3GPP) in Core Networks, driving Ericsson’s strategies in 5G/6G standardization!
Within the 3GPP Technical Specification Group Core Network and Terminals (TSG CT), the main objectives of the 3GPP TSG CT WG1 (CT1) are the production, enhancement and maintenance of specifications for UE to Core Network interfaces and interfaces within Core Network. The 3GPP CT1 is responsible for, e.g., Mobility Management, Call Control, Session Management and Location services Layer 3 signalling between the User Equipment (UE) and the Core Network (CN); Mobile Radio interface Layer 3, etc.

The positions will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden, as part of the Network Management and Automation section, reporting to the respective Research Leader.
You will
Act as a delegate and/or back office researcher, working with contributions for 3GPP standardization meetings
Research and develop novel concepts, solutions and algorithms by using, e.g., simulations, prototypes, etc.
Create new technical solutions and protect them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), write research articles, etc.
Represent Ericsson in external fora such as standardization, university collaborations, and customer meetings
To be successful in the role you must have
PhD or MSc. degree in a technical field or equivalent
Experience in working with 3GPP standardization
Excellent knowledge of Mobile Networks and industry understanding
Demonstrated leadership capability
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Outstanding networking, collaboration, communication and innovation skills with high energy and motivation
