The Department of Education is one of the largest departments at the Faculty of Social Sciences with about 8000 students and 180 employees. We provide a variety of courses and programmes, from first to third level. Most of our courses are taught in Swedish. In English, the department offers single courses (first and second level) and a master's programme in education with an international and comparative specialisation. We are also home to the Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL). 

Project description
The department collaborates in a Nordic network financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers, with the purpose to increase mobility and extend collaboration between partner institutions and to create opportunities for further exchanges within international and comparative education and intercultural communication competence. The position will be associated with a project initiated by the network to develop a joint digital course in intercultural communiation competence. 

Main responsibilities
The position requires extensive experience from research and course development in the field of international and comparative education. You will support the project group and our staff in developing a joint digital course in intercultural communication competencies and to generate digitally personalised assessment instruments aligned with agility and such competencies. You will contribute your experience from working in internationalisation work in higher education and your knowledge in interactive digital tools. You will also contribute to shared reporting, publishing and ensuring the research foundations are grounding in the curriculum.

Qualification requirements
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills and scientific expertise within the field of international and comparative education, and experience in similar work duties. Particular attention will be given to excellent and effective written and spoken skills in the English language as well as in intercultural competence, academic literacy and language practise. Particular attention will also be given to advanced skills in digitalised course development appropriate for teaching internationally and including international classification systems, deep knowledge of intercultural teaching in higher education, internationalisation and curriculum theory. 

Doctoral degree within education/international education or within social sciences with relevant orientatoin. In this position experience from international mobility within the area of international education is a requirement.

Terms of employment
The position involves part-time employment, 25%, for a maximum of six months, with an option to prolongate. Start date as soon as possible or as per agreement.
