As part of a strategic initiative, the Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg hereby announces eight positions for excellent researchers.Four of them are faculty positions and open for all areas of medical research and four are four-year positions for patient centred research.

The Sahlgrenska Academy is the faculty of health sciences at the University of Gothenburg.Research and education are conducted within the fields of medicine, odontology, pharmacy, and health care sciences.The Sahlgrenska Academy is organized in six institutes, and the positions will be placed in any of these according to the applicant's research interest.The researchers will have access to a number of state of the art core facilities.

FOUR SENIOR RESEARCH POSITIONS

The Sahlgrenska Academy wishes to attract four outstanding researchers for faculty positions in any type of medical research.These open positions are tenured and intended for excellent researchers with an already established independent profile and funding.The excellence will be evaluated in relation to the applicant's career phase.Depending on qualifications and external funding, generous starting up packages will be negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD or equivalent academic degree within a relevant field.The main criteria for evaluation will be scientific excellence, capacity to attract and build a research team, and the capacity to attract external funding.Interpersonal skills will also be evaluated.

APPLICATION: The application should be written in English.Reference number should be given and the application should contain CV, copy of PhD certificate, list of publications, list of ten most important publications, research programme (8 pages), a summary of previous research achievements as well as previous and present funding (3 pages), and a summary of pedagogic and administrative skills (2 pages).

The ten most important publications must be enclosed with the application.
