As part of a strategic initiative, the Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg hereby announces eight positions for excellent researchers.Four of them are faculty positions and open for all areas of medical research and four are four-year positions for patient centred research.

The Sahlgrenska Academy is the faculty of health sciences at the University of Gothenburg.Research and education are conducted within the fields of medicine, odontology, pharmacy, and health care sciences.The Sahlgrenska Academy is organized in six institutes, and the positions will be placed in any of these according to the applicant's research interest.The researchers will have access to a number of state of the art core facilities.


FOUR POSITIONS (4-YEARS) IN PATIENT CENTRED RESEARCH

The Sahlgrenska Academy wishes to attract promising scientists for positions in patient centred research.These postdoctoral research fellow positions are for excellent researchers in the early phase of their career.The Sahlgrenska Academy wishes to stimulate broadening of clinical research and to foster translational research with new alliances between patient centred and other research groups.The positions are preferably for clinical researchers and are full-time for 4 years.There are possibilities for an extension.Resources for one doctoral student position will be provided for each recruited researcher.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD or equivalent academic degree awarded not more than 5 years prior to the closing date of the application.Older doctoral degree might be considered if special circumstances prevail."Special circumstances" refer to leave due to illness, military service, positions of trust in trade union organizations and student organizations, parental leave, or other similar circumstances.Medical residency (equaling the Swedish term "allmäntjänstgöring, AT"; up to 24 months) and a maximum of 24 months of continuing education/specialist training for categories of clinically active professionals are other reasons for deducting time.The main criteria for evaluation will be scientific excellence, and the capacity to attract funding.Interpersonal skills will also be evaluated.Emphasis will be put on evaluating the proposal in terms of added value to patient centred research at the Sahlgrenska Academy.

APPLICATION: The application should be written in English.Reference number should be given and the application should contain CV, copy of PhD certificate, list of publications, list of five most important publications, research programme (5 pages), a summary of previous research achievements as well as previous and present funding (2 pages), a summary of pedagogic and administrative skills (2 pages), and an outline on how the applicant may contribute to patient centred research at the Sahlgrenska Academy (2 pages).

The five most important publications must be enclosed with the application.
