Reserving Manager

We are looking for a Reserving Manager to join our team in Trygg-Hansa.TheReserving Manager willlead our actuarial / statistical team providing reserving actuarial services to the business. The role also includes management of actuarial projects and Nordic actuarial deliverables, providing management support to the Chief Actuary and Swedish reserving team. An important part of the role is working with wider business stakeholders and senior leadership both in Scandinavia and RSA Group, to ensure effective understanding of reserving selections and ensuring all relevant information is considered as part of the actuarial modelling process. You will be located in Stockholm and report to the Scandinavian Chief Actuary.

The job includes:

- Lead the delivery of key reserve reporting for the Swedish Reserving team including:
- Quarterly reserve reviews
- Monthly reserve booking
- Sweden and Codan Group Reserving Committee meeting packs
- Margin document
- Working closely with the Chief Actuary and team to ensure delivery
- Ensure effective discussion & challenge of reserving selections with the Swedish business leadership including underwriting, claims and portfolio management.
- Work closely with Finance partners to ensure appropriate explanation of monthly result reserve movements and prior year development, and that these reconcile to financials and the actuarial analysis
- Address issues raised by Group Actuarial
- Coaching and developing the team to build their reserving knowledge and understanding.

Your profile:

Seasoned professional with management experience in the insurance industry. You have proven actuarial skills, particularly pricing, reserving and capital management.
Proven ability to identify key commercial issues from technical analysis and to communicate them effectively to senior management. Detailed understanding of RSA’s existing portfolios.
