Do you find working in a complex production challenging and exciting? Are you motivated by working with many different projects ranging from deep operations, to ongoing preventive maintenance and optimizations? Then you may well be one of the Responsible Engineers we are looking for to join our technical support team at our Drug Substance factory! In this position, you will take on an important role in our ongoing fight to eradicate polio from the world.

The team's responsibilities and ambitions

You will be joining a new but highly skilled technical support team in our Drug Substance factory where we produce the API for our inactivated Polio vaccine (IPV). In the department, we are 80 colleagues divided into academics, production technicians, and other service functions in 7 teams. The technical team plays an important role where we always strive to support our partners in production the best ways possible.

In our team, we also work with developing strategies for investments where we can ensure a continuous optimization of our capabilities to create efficient maintenance allowing our production to work with as much support as possible.

You will be a part of a department that helps save lives across the globe, from our centrally located facilities on Artillerivej in Copenhagen

Your work tasks

As a Responsible Engineer, you will play a central role in both stabilizing and optimizing the production output. You will be primary responsible for process equipment and systems in our Upstream Cell Culturing, Upstream Virus Propagation and Media Production area, in the API Polio Manufacturing production facility. Via your work function, you will act as the first point of contact when our equipment needs attention or when the operators or technicians are experiencing technical challenges during use. This provides you with the opportunity to influence everyday production and workflows, through continuous improvement and stabilization of the technical availability of our equipment.

The tasks will be diverse and include:

Ensure that all systems are functional, calibrated and living up their validated state
Plan and coordinate equipment maintenance in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Ensure that equipment and systems are in compliance with both GMP and GAPIII, as well as handling equipment related deviations, CAPAs and change cases
Life Cycle management, including spare parts and vendor contact
Own work packages and execute projects related to equipment technology improvements at all phases of the project, including designing, testing, and implementing in production
Drive and/or participate in technical problem solving, using systematic problem-solving tools such as the A3
Who are you?

The ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualifications:

An educational background as Mechanical Engineer, aircraft mechanic, technician or similar
Minimum 1 years of experience from a production environment pharma or other
Basic understanding of processes and production flow
Experience in carrying out maintenance, ranging from quick fixes to more complex maintenance operations
Diagnostic and analytical problem-solving skills
A natural flair for leading processes and tasks in smaller forums, in a positive and productive way
The desire to work in a dynamic production environment and the necessary time management skills to handle technical challenges from many users at the same time
In the role as Responsible Engineer, it is important that you possess a certain degree of independence and that you can manage and maintain an overview of your current and upcoming actions. In addition, you are collaboration-oriented and good at prioritizing and planning your own work. You communicate fluently in both written and spoken Danish and English. Experience with SAP, MS Office as well as software solutions for maintenance will be an advantage.

You will be working in a department that handles live poliovirus, and our facilities and personnel operate under strict guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO), known as GAPlll. These describe and specify the requirements made to our facilities, processes, procedures, and personnel.
