Role of System Design Engineer | 100% Remote

We are currently looking for passionate experienced and result-oriented candidates for the role of a System Design Engineer with a professional background and exemplary concepts to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:
The company develops features and innovations that will enable the next generation of electric propulsion, self-driving cars, and active safety technology. The goal of Vehicle Motion Controls is to control the vehicle in all six degrees of freedom using sensor input to control several actuators such as propulsion and chassis features.


From early research and advanced engineering projects to system industrialization, the organisation works in cross-functional teams to cover everything from feature definition to system design, software development, and system and vehicle testing.


As a System Design Engineer, you'll work on developing controls for everything from propulsion to chassis to Active Safety/Autonomous Drive systems. We work on a variety of areas and tasks, including system safety architecture, subsystem definition, function realisation, and ECU and sensor system design.


The mission of the Stability Functions team is to provide a safe and agile driving experience for the driver in a variety of conditions and driving scenarios. Using advanced vehicle models and state estimates, interactions with various vehicle actuators such as brakes, powertrain, and steering are possible.




Education, Expertise, and experience requirements:
We're looking for people who are open-minded and have a strong ability to collaborate, which is critical given that you'll be managing a large network both internally and externally. You're an excellent communicator who can handle multiple topics at once.


You're a technical team player who can work with people from various cultures. You are analytically strong, structured and organised in your daily work, business and performance oriented, and solution oriented.


Competency prerequisites for the applicant:
M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field is required.
Driver's licence with excellent English skills, both verbally and in writing (type B)





Other:
It is advantageous to have the following knowledge & experience:
System engineering or software design in the automotive industry or a related industry.
Volvo Cars' Base Technologies' Experience (SWDL, Diagnostics, NWM, etc.)
AUTOSAR and ISO26262 experience
Collaboration with the requirements management team
In an international setting, managing suppliers is a challenge.
