For Scania, our people are our most valuable asset. The strong and supportive culture of Scania provides an organisational environment where each individual is seen, respected, and can contribute. We trust each other to act and make decisions, and we believe in a more flexible future workplace based on individual needs.

Development happens naturally here; individuals, teams, and our customer offerings have the support they need to grow. The result is an industry-leading company with motivated, dedicated people who want to be a part of driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system.

Our team, Systems Safety, is responsible for judging the system safety in the vehicle embedded systems. The definition of Safety includes traffic safety, safe functions/systems, safe degradation, and functional safety.

We stand before the challenge to create the Scania future vehicle embedded system. To be able to do this we need to provide a wise systemization and also safety systems and functions without impairing availability and Scania Quality. You will work together with all parts of the organization where embedded systems are involved and develop safe solutions together with all the accumulated expertise at Scania for different functions. Together we develop our skills and share knowledge to create outstanding solutions.

Your new job
As architects, we help others to achieve their goals as we are solution-focused and always prepared to propose the way forward. You are a vital part of the development of our embedded systems. Working within the Systems Safety team requires a high level of integrity meaning being transparent and clear, without hidden agendas.

Examples of tasks:

• participate and perform safety analyses on vehicle level as well as for functionality and systems.
• define safety concepts/architecture for the future electrical system and the way of working.
• collaborate with several other Scania co-workers in all our project phases, from early concept to service,  maintenance, and field quality issues.
• define safety boundaries for autonomous driving

Through these tasks, you will establish a broad cross-functional network where collaboration is the key to success. Therefore your leadership skills are of great importance and will be developed in the role. To succeed in this we embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. Our group is committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.

Your Profile
We think you have at least 5 years of safety-related work within embedded systems, preferably in automotive or other safety-critical industries. Maybe as a system/function owner or safety manager. If you have experience from Scania or TRATON group it’s meritous. Since you will be working in a global environment you express yourself fluently, both in speech and writing, in English.

You appreciate tasks where you can use your strategic overview and your values to guide others in doing what’s right. Communication and collaboration are important factors that make you thrive in your position.
