Purpose of the job
The Safety Assurance Manager is to setup and harmonize the safety assurance activities across different systems’ suppliers for Rail Technology Program (RTP).

Key responsibilities:
Responsible for the RTP-Safety Assurance Plan. · Setup the Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA) processes and procedures between system suppliers’.
Perform and coordinate Safety Assurance activities (risk analysis, hazard log, review RAM, Cybersecurity, Verification and Validation, Testing & Commissioning activities) from a Safety perspective.
Coordinate all Safety Assurance activities on the project based on the safety process defined in the project. · Setup the key stakeholder’s involvement in each IHA workshops/discussions.
Create all relevant documentation and facilitate discussion for the various Risk Assessment workshops; PHA, SHA, IHA, OSHA, SiD, HAZID, HAZOP etc.
Create Test Readiness Safety Cases, Design Safety Cases, GASCs, SASCs and update throughout the development life cycle.
Review and support all safety documentation with regards to Specific Application (SA) Safety Cases for Onboard, Wayside and Site Data with other system suppliers’.
Review and support all safety documentation with regards to Generic Application (GA) Safety Cases for Onboard, Wayside and Site Data with other system suppliers’.
Provide Safety Governance between the RMS system and various systems, Independent Safety Assessments (ISAs) and ISVs. · Create and updates of GA and SA Hazard Logs, Design Decision Registers and provide support for so far as is reasonably practicable (SFAIRP) arguments in compliance with the legislative requirements of the Rail Safety National Law (RSNL).
Define the development of Operational Safety Case (OSC) of RMS with interfacing systems at the RTP level.
Compile and consolidate OCS at the RTP level for the approval of Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR).
Apply the safety assurance methodologies defined for RTP project. · Support BHP to integrate systems in project.


Qualifications & Functional Knowledge
Education
Bachelor in Electrical/Electronics, Telecommunication, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferably:
Senior preferred


Relevant experience required
5-10 years of similar experience


Specialized or cross-functional knowledge:
Knowledgeable in CENELEC standards for safety and safety methodology & concepts/principles.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in safety assurance for safety related applications.
Knowledgeable in the Rail Safety National Law (WA) Act 2015 and SFAIRP requirements.
Ability to lead and drive the integration activities between different system suppliers’ from Safety perspective.
Familiar with signalling system and requirements management.
Familiar with engineering safety management process, hazard identification, risk assessment and derivation of safety requirements.
