Alstom is looking for a Safety Assurance Manager in Railway Signalling
The Opportunity!
Working with railway signalling has never been more exiting that now. The new European standard, ERTMS is on its way to reshape the future of public transportation. We are looking for you that would like to join us and further develop the Safety functions in our signalling systems in the Nordics Countries. You will be a part of our Stockholm office, but we are open to remote or other solution.
Key responsibilities!
In this position you will be challenged to work together with your colleagues in the safety team in complex projects and to act as safety reference on the related project core team.
You define safety plan and strategy and managing the safety workload and planning for the safety work package in the project including one or more safety engineers. You will also coordinate all the safety assurance activities in the on-going projects.
You organize and attend periodic reviews with the experts of the teams. You perform safety analysis, identifies hazards, manage hazard log and the specified safety requirements throughout the Lifecycle of the project. You perform, manage, and ensure that the activities and safety methodologies and analysis such as FMEA, FTA are applied in project as well as builds safety reports, safety validation reports and safety cases.
As we work closely with clients you are our expert and will argue and describe detailed necessary steps taken safety matters in front of internal and external safety stake holders such as customer safety manager, independent safety assessors.

Who are you?
You have former experience within functional safety or as alternative, a background to be successful in this position can be in product development and/or testing, preferable of safety system, and you have can learn about safety methodologies. You have some previous experience from the rail industry or from an adjacent sector such as structured engineering company such as in the automotive, the energy or industrial control systems will be a good match.
Advanced working experience in safety assurance for safety-related projects/systems OR limited working experience in safety assurance for safety-related products together with solid experience in structured R&D project lifecycle.
University Master’s degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Software Engineering/Computer science or equivalent OR alternatively bachelor’s degree and consolidated work experience.
Excellent analytical mind-set would help in the understanding of the safety principles of possible safety architectures and requirement management.
Knowledge of HW electrical schemes and knowledge of SW Safety architecture is a strong asset!
Knowledge of the CENELEC/IEC Standards for Functional Safety and/ or European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) standards and regulations is an advantage.
Task focused and detail-oriented approach, well organized and structured with the ability to work effectively against deadlines.
Team player, proactive behaviour and capable of coordinating work within the project and handling conflict resolutions and work ethic.
Very good and communication skills, knowledge of English; Swedish is an added value
