Alstom delivers trains and train propulsion systems globally. Products and deliveries must be of highest standards and to achieve this propulsion control team now seeks to strengthen the cyber security and functional safety area with a Control Safety and/or Cyber Security Engineer, the job content (safety and/or cyber security) can be adapted to the individual ultimately chosen for this position. The role is an integral part of a propulsion system development team and has an interface to both system and control development teams.
For functional safety, the tasks include maintaining and developing architectures for safety-critical software and hardware, quality assurance plans, change management and software release management, as well as formal analysis and traceability matrixes. All activities are part of an overall safety plan that shall result in general product as well as specific safety cases. The job also includes coordination with the hardware department in Västerås for safety concept and requirements alignment.
For cyber security, the tasks include doing necessary analysis and establishing vulnerability and threat reports, cyber secure software and hardware architecture, quality assurance plan, change management and software release management. All activities are part of an overall development life cycle that shall result in a delivery achieving a certain cyber security level.
Further coordination with colleagues in France, Germany and Switzerland require good communication skills. Communication with external safety/cyber security assessors is a part of the job. The work will include coordination and leading colleagues in other locations and might require limited travel.
Responsibilities:
Management of safety and/or cyber security for products.
Ensure fulfilment of safety cases.
Develop safety and/or cyber security processes and plans to support efficient work.
Review of technical solutions and documentation with regards to functional safety and/or cyber security.
Perform internal safety audits.
Perform validation and coordinate with external assessors.
Coordination and leading colleagues in other locations and might require limited travel (i.e., further coordination with colleagues in France, Germany and Switzerland).
Qualifications:
Education: Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Permanent EU work permit.
Minimum 3 years of functional safety and/or cyber security work experience.
Proficient ability to both read and write technical documentation.
Knowledge and understanding of embedded systems (hardware and software).
Problem solving skills, team player, good communication skills.
Experience from entire development chain; from functional safety requirements to validation is beneficial.
Experience from MATLAB/Simulink (or similar tools) and code generation in safety critical and/or cyber secure applications is preferred.
Experience from safety critical applications fulfilling EN50657 (or other related standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508, etc.) is a highly beneficial.
Experience from cyber secure applications, standards (i.e., IEC 62443) and/or relevant processes is highly beneficial.
Fluent in English and preferably in Swedish.
