oin us as a Safety Engineer for propulsion systems in Vaesteras, Sweden and you will be looking at a career-defining role.
YOUR ROLE
The purpose of the role is to manage the safety aspects of the design of propulsion system in both order and development projects. The propulsion system consists of high voltage equipment, transformers/line filters, traction converters, traction motors, auxiliary converters and associated control system.
The Safety Engineer is responsible for analysing customer safety requirements and provide refined requirements to the design team to achieve the correct product and system safety. The Safety Engineer performs safety analysis such as FMECA and FTA and hazard analysis. He/she participates during FAI and reviews documentation from a safety perspective. Provides safety justification in safety case or proof of safety when required.
The complexity of work can vary from application projects where the system and its products are already developed and only requires limited design difference assessment to development projects where new technology, products or functionality is designed.
Participation in focused technical investigation teams as well as in teams working with continuous improvements of processes and ways of working is foreseen.
This position includes frequent international contacts as fellow colleagues, assessors and authorisation bodies or are placed worldwide.
Experience from working with safety in electrical power systems, applicable sub systems/products or preferably propulsion systems is required. Experience from working with Model Based Design methodology for safety analysis purpose, using tools like MATLAB/Simulink or similar is beneficial.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
Solid understanding of electrical power or propulsion systems.
Good ability to both read and write technical documentation.
Problem solving skills, team player, good communication skills.
Fluent in English and preferably in Swedish.
Experience from MATLAB/Simulink/SimScape/PLECS or similar graphical modelling and simulation tools is beneficial.
