Electrification of road transport is a key element in delivering the Green Deal, a carbon neutral Europe and ultimately a carbon neutral world. Using hydrogen as a carrier of green electricity to power electric trucks in long-haul operations is one important part of the puzzle, and a complement to battery electric vehicles and renewable fuels.

Your new role:
As vehicles continue to evolve, so does the vehicle complexity. Despite this the vehicles are always expected to be safe and operate correctly, even under unintended use. Lack of safeguards can be expensive in terms of damage to vehicles and property and even dangerous for human users.
As safety engineer you play a vital role in secure that every step that we take in the design process is in line with functional safety requirements. Your focus will be fuel cell propulsion system with connected tank system and the interfaces to electromobility systems and platform. In this role you will work cross-functionally within our organization and have interaction points at GTT Electromobility and Powertrain organizations as well as at Volvo Penta and Volvo Construction Equipment.

Other criteria:
We are looking for an experienced engineer with experience in the automotive industry
We see that you have a M.Sc. in Engineering with documented experience of several years in the automotive area
Deep knowledge about Heavy Duty Vehicle Applications and well-established experience in all phases from concept, requirements, design, verification to validation and production. This including safety analyses and tools such as EUF, HARA, FSC, FSR, FMEA, ASIL as part of functional safety according to ISO26262
