Safety manager for Autonomous Transport Solutions

Safety manager for Autonomous Transport Solutions

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania genomgår nu en transformation från att vara en leverantör av lastbilar, bussar och motorer till en leverantör av kompletta och hållbara transportlösningar.

For Scania, our people are our most valuable asset. The strong and supportive culture of Scania provides an organisational environment where each individual is seen, respected and can contribute. We trust each other to act and make decisions, and we believe in a more flexible future workplace based on individual needs.

Development happens naturally here; individuals, teams and our customer offerings have the support they need to grow. The result is an industry-leading company with motivated, dedicated people who want to be a part of driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system.

Developing self-driving vehicles is highly dependent on a successful strategy for safety. Scania Autonomous Systems are looking for our next Safety Manager who will drive an active and structured work with systems- and functional safety. If you have experience and want to take a step to the next level you will be able to do so here. Committed and curious minds with a preference for a technical career can grow together with us at the team and within Scania.

Your future job
You will work closely together with your safety team colleagues, and also with stakeholders on different levels, for example:

• helping the management making decisions based on relevant input
• assisting our development teams in delivering world class systems
• plan and participate in different safety analysis work
• communicate with customers in safety related matters

Higher demands on functional safety drives a need to build a safety culture in the organization, and here you and your colleagues together are important communicators and ambassadors. In this role, you will build a broad network within Scania R&D in general, and systems development in particular. You will work in different phases, from idea to finalised product. The position is available in a group specalizing in Functional Safety and Cyber Security at the department for Autonomous Development (EA)

Your profile
We are more interested in which questions you will ask, than what your answers is: we think you are a listener who are able to sort out relevant information and spread it within the organisation. We want our next Safety Manager to be a solution-oriented team player with ability to analyze, prioritize and delegate. We believe you are curious about new technology and about systems engineering - that you like to develop an understanding of the big picture and how the dots are connected, but also about which detailed issues that are needed to address.

You like the challenge of communicating complex information in an clear way, in meetings but also as a presenter. We believe that you have a background in engineering with a few years experience in system development in general. Ideally, you have experience from software intense systems, however it's not necessary to be a programmer to succeed in this position.  At least 2 years of practical work with functional safety analysis methods is required and knowledge of standards such as IEC61508 and ISO 26262 is meritorious. Professional English skills are required (Swedish and other languages are meritorious).

If you share our passion for safe, efficient and sustainable transport solutions, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t completely match our wish list above - we are more interested in where you are heading than what you’ve done so far, and the right person will be given the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed. Driving license is, however, a requirement.

Our offer to you
By joining Scania Autonomous Systems you will be part of developing cutting edge technology. You will also get:

• Competent and friendly colleagues
• A workplace with drive and a "can do"-attitude, that at the same time puts work life balance first
• Great opportunities for personal development and great career opportunities
• Possibilities for international assignments

We offer an interesting and challenging job where there is plenty of scope for new ideas. Our corporate culture is characterised by openness, diversity and respect for the individual. Employees are our most important resource, so we invest in training our employees and giving them the opportunity to broaden their skills in order to be able to grow with us.
