Sales and Application Specialist in spectroscopy

As an application specialist at K-analys AB you will primarily work with sales of spectroscopy and thermal conductivity instruments, and serve as technical support for customers but also for subsidiary personnel in China and India - a total of 13 people. In this role you are responsible for the sales process - from initial customer contact to closing business deals and securing delivery of product, and you will actively establish new customer relationships and nurture existing ones. To be able to support clients and staff with instrument expertise you are expected to acquire necessary understanding of the products and get a high technical knowledge of the applications. You will work with tenders and negotiate prices and terms with customers. The working tasks also includes conducting contract analyses at the Uppsala office lab and perform internal technical development work. The position includes a couple of trips to China and India on an annual basis, and to the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe a couple times a month.



The overall work tasks:

. Sales initiatives focusing on the full product range. Instrument installations and subsequent training of customers and staff.
. Technical support to K-analys ABs staff in China and India, and securing deliveries to these countries.
. Perform contract measurements and analyses. Conduct instrument demonstrations and participate in exhibitions, fairs and conferences.
. Perform advanced instrument development in the field of optics.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is scientifically educated at university or college with an engineering degree or similar. The role requires technical expertise and long practical experience in the field of spectroscopy from higher education or profession, and it is meritorious if you are a PhD in the field. Preferably you also have good theoretical and practical knowledge in optics. We favor if you previously have worked with active sales successfully, and it is an advantage if you have experience of negotiating with decision making customers.

As a person you are responsible, self-motivated, service-oriented, and you thrive on a high level of activity in a networking role. In order to be successful in this position you need to be flexible with good interpersonal skills and set to help where it is needed in the best interest of the company. You are outgoing with a strong customer focus and have good communication and presentation skills. The position requires that you speak and write English fluently. It is desirable if you understand and make yourself understood in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
