The growing demand for Power is driving an increasing number of investments around the world. While there is a large shift to more renewable power sources, also more conventional power plants are still needed today to supply all the required electricity. We in Alfa Laval have a very long history in the Power sector and have a wide range of products to offer in both areas. At the same time, we also believe we still have a lot more opportunities to capture. The Power sector is transforming very quickly, and new innovative technologies are coming up constantly. Alfa Laval’s gasketed plate heat exchangers have an important role to play in making new powerplant investments sustainable, energy efficient and economically feasible. Business Unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger (BU GPHE) is now looking for a Sales Developer for Conventional and Renewable Power to join us on this exciting journey.

About the job

As Sales Developer for Conventional & Renewable Power, you work in a truly international environment, playing a crucial role in growing and developing our market leading position within global energy efficiency. You are part of a passionate and informal team of Sales Developers and Sales Engineers around the world who help each other out and try to have a good laugh every day.

You are in the driver’s seat for setting the direction, developing plans and our offerings, and implementing actions to drive continued growth and increased market share.  In close collaboration with our colleagues in Sales Companies, you agree on their market strategies for sales and application development and support them in their drive towards our goals. You are their main speaking partner for their power industry projects, together contributing to make the world a more sustainable place.

Your main responsibilities include:
* Stay on top of the latest developments in the Power Industry
* Tracking investments in new conventional and renewable power projects worldwide
* Spot new opportunities and new potential customers
* Drive all stages of the sales process, technically and commercially
* Support our sales companies in selecting, designing, and optimizing the best plate heat exchanger solutions matching our customers’ needs
* For global accounts you identify, initiate and drive discussions on strategic partnerships
* Pro-actively contribute to product improvements and new product development
* Set up marketing activities for the Power Industry and for selected markets
* Organize training activities for our sales engineers in the sales companies
* Participate in industry forums

You are an important part of an agile team based in our headquarters in Lund (Sweden). You enjoy travelling globally, about 30-40 days/year. You will report to the Global Sales Manager.

Who are you?

You have a very good business understanding and a commercial mindset. You are energetic, open, curious, positive, eager to learn, persistent, driven and goal oriented. As this role is centrally positioned in an international matrix organisation, excellent communication skills are highly valued, and networking is part of your DNA.

What you know

You have a record of successfully managing and developing technical project sales in an international business-to-business environment. You are passionate about what you do and have a genuine interest in the Power Industry. You have a chemical or mechanical engineering degree and an interest in thermal design.  You are an excellent communicator generally, and especially in English, both verbal and in writing.
