Volvo Energy is our newest business area with the overarching purpose of supporting the Volvo Group’s transformation ambitions within electrification, sustainability, circularity, complete service offer, profitable growth and resilience. 



Within the Volvo Energy Sales and Services team, we hold the responsibility to commercialize the Volvo Branded Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) offering, both to existing customers and new customer groups. Our Battery Energy Storage Systems will support e-mobility and charging, provide temporary power supply as well as optimize commercial and industrial sites when it comes to decarbonizing and lowering energy costs. 



In this role you will be given a unique opportunity to shape and drive the early development of this new business for Volvo Group, together with the leadership team and a set of skilled and committed colleagues. We will work on solutions that will drive economically viable circularity and take us to a sustainable future.  


As a Sales Manager BESS Nordics, you will play a central role to develop the  mid-long term strategy roadmap for BESS sales, lead customer sales and deployment projects, from explorative pre-studies to final system commissioning and handover. You will also work in close cooperation with other Volvo Group colleagues and external partners to develop our offer and capabilities. 



Your starting point will be: 
* Define prioritized subsegments and key customer buying criteria. 
* Build a customer base and  a consistent order pipeline to fulfill agreed sales targets. 
* Building and maintaining management level relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders. 
* Conduct sales, lead the negotiation and closing of transactions for energy storage products and services.  
* Establish & maintain sales documentation and sales agreements. 
* Develop complete offer and business model including pricing and financial options. 
* Support processes and tools implementation (e.g. CRM/ERP) 
* Provide input and deliverables to product development projects

Center of gravity for the organization and main location for this position will be Gothenburg Sweden.   


Qualifications likely required to be successful  
* Sales experience in the power generation or a related industry (directly in energy storage would be a plus) 
* Track record in building up sales pipelines successfully and driving contracts to closing  
* Master’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, industrial engineering, business administration or equivalent. 
* Strong management level stakeholder relationships and network within the regional energy storage sector, including developers and local EPCs 
* Superior verbal and written communication skills. 
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in simultaneous projects 
* Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen. 



Direct experience from battery energy storage systems and contracting from a technical and commercial perspective would be additional value.
