About Symcel
Symcel is a Swedish medtech company that develops and sells analytical instrument solutions for measuring cell metabolism with high sensitivity. We are located at Karolinska Institute campus in Solna with modern facilities including sales, marketing, production and R&D labs. We are in commercial phase with increasing acceleration of global instrument use within R&D applications.
Symcel is home to a mix of business drivers, scientists and engineers with a large passion for our work. All with the common aim to bring our technology to use for tackling some of the world’s most acute health challenges. This includes finding novel treatments for cancer and antibiotic-resistant bacteria and gaining a deeper understanding of metabolic diseases. We have early traction on international R&D markets with strong support from top KOLs and around 20 scientific papers published. Customers are researchers in academia and industry that use our real-time in-vitro measurements of cell metabolism in a wide range of new assays within microbiology and cell biology.

About the position
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager with a solid business acumen within the lifescience industry that can bring long sales cycles into a good end using his/her personal and professional experience.
Your tasks and responsibilities
Responsible for initiating and implementing sales activities and revenue generation within assigned markets
Develop and execute sales strategies and create new business opportunities within different segments/applications
Conduct frequent sales meetings, on-site and virtual, to promote and sell Symcel’s products and services
Create and solidify strong professional relations with relevant KOLs and their network
Together with Marketing, coordinate and lead webinars and product presentations to potential leads
Follow up business leads through the whole sales cycle from first contact to purchase order generation
Collaborate with Symcel’s Applications team to coordinate product demos and installations to customers
Attend international conferences and congresses to support Symcel’s product promotion
Support Symcel S&M Director with sales strategies definition and execution
Travel to assigned markets with a rate of 50-70 days per year, focused on Europe

Symcel is a company grounded in science and technology. We use isothermal microcalorimetry to help researchers in industry and academia to find answers to problems in fields as diverse as antibiotic resistance and cancer. This means that as a Sales Manager you will have to be able to quickly grasp different scientific concepts to present and sell Symcel’s instrument. A scientific background would be advantageous; however, it is more important that you can demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and utilize the insight of experts in the company effectively.
To be successful in the role we believe that you have:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role within the lifesciences
Relevant sales experience working towards main European Markets
Positive, structured and with a high sense of urgency profile to keep with Symcel’s growth pace
Passion for sales and an opened business mind to find constant opportunities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to navigate effectively within different areas of the organization
Computer literate to navigate easily between different software applications and platforms
A Master Degree in a relevant field (scientific and/or business)
Fluent in English

Desirable for the role:
Our working language is English but Swedish and/or other big European languages are considered relevant
MSc or PhD within the lifesciences is meritorious
Experience in selling and introducing novel products and/or lab tools instruments
