Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is a foundation with a global mission of safer use of medicines. Based in Uppsala, Sweden, UMC works on behalf of the World Health Organization (WHO) to collect and analyse international patient data with the aim of identifying and explaining problems related to medicines and their use. UMC is a world leader in scientific development in medicines safety monitoring, and provides capacity building in WHO member countries. Our products and services are used by health authorities and companies in the life science sector in more than 100 countries. UMC currently has approximately 100 employees.
We are now seeking Sales Representative (two posts) to further strengthen our sales team. As a sales representative with a focus on Japan or China you are responsible for creating sales as well as building and maintaining the current customer and vendor relations for the different UMC products and services including WHO Drug Dictionary Enhanced, the WHO Drug Dictionary extended with the WHO Herbal Dictionary, and WHO Drug Dictionary China. The role includes international travelling and reports to the Section Manager Sales & Customer Relations.
Main responsibilities
. Work as a Key Account Manager for an agreed number of customers.
. Create long-lasting customer relations and sales within your area.
. Ensure that individual goals are met, and achieve strategic plans according to the agreed budget
. Organize customer-related activities including meetings, seminars and conferences, all in an international arena.
. Enable your customers to see you as a partner rather than a vendor by acting as a resource, e.g. by sharing networks and contacts with customers, directing them to related areas of business, understanding their motivations and their situations regarding clinical trials and safety.
Professional profile
. University degree in Biomedical Science, or International Marketing/Industrial Marketing, or equivalent.
. Experience from international sales within pharma and/or CRO with a focus on clinical trials and/or safety.
. Experience of Japanese and/or Chinese culture is a strong advantage.
. English - excellent written and oral, Swedish - spoken and written, optional.

You have a passion for sales and the ability to create and maintain long-lasting customer relations. Strong presentation skills and seeing challenges as opportunities are other high valued qualities.
You are willing to travel and are expected to undertake international travel (from 4 to 14 days per trip) on several occasions per year.
