The Sales Responsible is a key position within IKEA and plays a major role in the product development processes by securing the link between our markets, sales channels and IKEA of Sweden (where the range is developed). As Sales Responsible, you initiate and propose activities to secure sales results and range potentials on the global market.
The Sales Responsible is responsible for:
• Leading and influencing different stakeholders from a retail and customer perspective to secure commercial success and acceptance of the range in the IKEA sales channels
• Feeding the product development process with customer behavior and needs from global market perspective
• Providing competitor information and market trends for the specific home furnishing areas
• Providing detailed sales reports and analytics for the specific home furnishing areas
To be able to deliver in this role, the Sales Responsible should have:
• Profound commercial retail knowledge and insights in the various sales channels
• Solid knowledge on the sales competence areas (ao: planning, steering, pricing etc.) or the willingness to acquire the IKEA ways of working quickly.
• Profound insights in the customer needs, behaviors and decision journey in the various sales channels from global perspective
• Strong analytical and financial competence as well as communication skills
The Sales Responsible position is a challenging and rewarding position with enormous impact on the many people around the world but it needs something to be successful. Experience in project management and stakeholder alignment is needed. A strong business sense paired with excellent communication and influencing skills is required. This position evolves around identifying and collaborating on innovations: innovation management is therefore also an absolute need.
