Hilleberg the Tentmaker AB is a family business that, for over 40 years, has been designing, manufacturing and selling the highest quality backpacking and mountaineering tents. Ranging in size from one- to eight-person models, Hilleberg tents are engineered to provide the optimal balance of reliability, adaptability, ease of use, durability, comfort and light weight. All products are developed in Jämtland, Sweden, where the Scandinavian landscape serves both as inspiration and as testing ground.
Located in Östersund, Hilleberg’s headquarters handles product development as well as the purchasing, inventory, administration, and sales for the European market. Hilleberg Inc., the company’s US-based sister operation, covers all sales outside of Europe. The tents themselves are built by the company’s manufacturing facility in Estonia.

Job Description
As the Hilleberg salesperson for the German speaking markets (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), you will work with Hilleberg’s existing retailers. You will develop and build long-term relationships, educate both retailers and end-user consumers about Hilleberg and their products, participate in trade shows and in mountain treks with retailers. You will also be responsible for administering and maintaining up-to-date customer databases and other business systems; some invoicing; follow ups on payments; planning and following up on customer visits and various events; and for generating reports.
In consultation with the Managing Director, you may also be tasked with handling other country’s markets in addition to the German-speaking ones.
The position requires an average of 60 days of travel per year, as well as some weekend work. Vacation opportunities during the peak season of June to August are limited.
If you do not live in or near Östersund, you will be required to take up residence there.
Who are you?
You are a responsible self-starter who is organized and methodical in your work, you plan ahead, and you have experience with business and customer systems. At the same time you cultivate and enjoy social relationships and you take pleasure in outdoor recreation.
You have solid sales experience; you believe strongly in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships; you are a passionate outdoor person; and you have an established network within the outdoor industry.
You have no problems traveling for work.
You must be able to speak and write German and English fluently, and you must be competent in Swedish or be willing to learn it.
