Swedish Space Corporation - a general contractor in space and aerospace Swedish Space designs, tests, launches and operates space and aerospace systems.Our operations are carried out within four business units located in Stockholm, Kiruna and Vidsel..At Esrange Space Center, east of Kiruna, we launch sounding rockets and balloons and from here we also operate one of the world's busiest civilian satellite ground stations.Swedish Space owns the German company LSE, which provides engineering and satellite operation services and the Swedish companies ECAPS, which develops and manufactures "green" propulsion systems, NanoSpace, which develops micromechanical systems for space applications and Svenska Basboxbolaget which provides technology for distribution of TV signals and other services via broadband.Swedish Space is also a part-owner of SES SIRIUS, which distributes television and offers other telecommunication services on its Sirius satellites.The Swedish Space Corporation group has 420 employees Satellite Engineer and/or Orbital Analyst.Based at Esrange Space Center 50 km outside of Kiruna in Sweden, you will be part of our team providing Satellite Control Services (SCS) and more specific a part of the Satellite Engineer group at the Mission Control Center (MCC).From MCC we provide satellite control operations to customers interested in outsourcing a part of, or the entire routine operations to a trusted partner.Today MCC has the responsibility and control of the Sirius satellites owned by SES Sirius, a commission we have had since 1989.The Sirius fleet consists of Sirius 2 (Alcatel Spacebus 3000B) and Sirius 3 (Boeing 376HP).SCS is among other things involved in the development of the ground segments and operations for the ESA founded project Small-GEO satellite and for the OSSL founded Smart-OLEV project.The satellite engineering group has the responsibility for the Sirius satellites health and maintaining the satellites in its orbital position.There is also a possibility to be a part of the different projects within SCS.The work is normally conducted during office hours but the orbit analyst part can occur on other hours. Responsibilities .Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of satellite systems design & operations which are controlled from MCC; .Plan and lead routine operations; .Plan and evaluate Orbital corrections; .Investigate anomalies in conjunction with satellite manufactures and customer; .Support the acquisition of new projects by SSC in the ground system development and operations areas; .Participate in the ongoing work to improve the ground station.Experience / Qualification .Be a Master of Science in Physics, Electronics or Space science; .Operational experiences in controlling satellites, preferably on geostationary satellites, as controller or satellite engineer.Experience in LEOP and/or mission preparation is a merit..Be fluent in English (any other language being an asset); .Have good communication skills and team-spirit; .Have driving license for cars .
